Staying in a Guest House isn't for everybody. As one traveler recently said "you are trading some of your traveling amenities for a lower rate and actual interaction with fellow travelers. It means sitting in the lounge playing Scrabble with other guests. It means a late night invitation to a bonfire. It means a shared pot of coffee."
In the last five years we have met enough people that say "I just need a place to lay my head". So we acquired the seven bedroom home next door
and have added a home style "Guest House", also known as a European Style Lodging, to our existing motel.
But we have done it in "Sea Haven" style with fresh paint, pergo style living and bedroom floors, ceramic tile in kitchen and bath areas, updated furniture and new appliances.

We just opened in July 2010. There are six private rooms, most accomodate 1-2 guests sharing a queen bed. One of the rooms has a queen below and a loft style twin bed above, for individuals traveling together, but who need seperate beds. The largest room is set up for a group (up to six) with two bunkbeds and a full size futon. All six rooms share the center of the home with a kitchen, living room and one and a half baths.
The outdoor relaxation space has a large deck, gas BBQ and plenty of parking. The outside is still "a work in progress". We will be adding a firepit and fireside seating for the summer.
